I look forward to March because I get more chances to play Irish music. This year I played some shows with O’Darby, a group that I’ve played with for a few years that goes back at least twenty years. Ken Lonnquist, Peter Burns and Dave Adler do a great job with songs about whiskey, fighting, women, and the sea.
On St. Patrick’s Day I played a big celebration with Madison favorites The Kissers. That was my first show with those guys and we’re going to keep working together. It’s great fun to play with them and they’re very cool to hang with. They have a regular show at the Malt House in Madison on the 2nd Monday of each month. I’m going to join them there as often as I can.
